GST/HST Exemption for Counselling Therapy Services Receives Royal Assent
Federal Bill C-59, an Act to Implement Certain Provisions of the Fall Economic Statement, has received royal assent. Effective June 20, 2024, GST/HST will no longer be applied to counselling therapy services provided by a licensed registrant in a province where counselling therapy is a regulated profession.
CCPA President Carrie Foster announced, “This bill will transform the mental health care landscape in Canada by removing financial barriers that prevent many individuals from providing and accessing vital therapy services.”
